Why take up basketmaking?
Basketmaking requires almost no tools, can be done at home in your kitchen or garden and the raw material - willow rods - costs very little.
Basket making can be hugely therapeutic. Its rhythmic, repetitive nature is great for relaxing your brain and unwinding from a stressful day. You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride as you watch your weaving build into a beautiful basket.
It’s a lovely thing do on your own or with a group of friends.
We teach basketry at MYOWN2HANDS.CO because it's something humans have done for almost all our time on earth. It feels very familiar and is wonderfully satisfying to learn.
